Putney High School

Very successful girls' school that usually ranks among the top schools in the country academically.  Consistently brings all its girls through with the standard 5 C or better GCSE passes.  Most girls go on to further education.

They have invested heavily in the Science and Technology departments and have a specialised department for Design and Technology and a large number of well equipped labs.  A sports hall was recently completed. An Art Studio was added in 2000. The Dining Room and Science Block were refurbished in Spring 2002.

How do you get in?

Putney High is non-denominational and quite academic in focus and intellectual potential is the main criterion for selection. The usual ages of entry are 4+, 7+, 11+ and 16+, with occasional vacancies at other times. Some 450 applicants take examinations in English and Mathematics at 11+.
