St. Augustine's Priory

Set in thirteen acres of beautiful fields and gardens St Augustine’s Priory is one of the leading girls’ Catholic Independent schools in the country by exam results (2006 – 100% pass rate at GCSE and at A Level, with A* or A being the most common grade). Despite its academic achievements the school stresses the broader aspects of education and believes that pressurising girls yields very short-term dividends. The school was founded over 350 years ago in France, but it moved to its present home in Ealing in 1915. The Junior School takes girls from aged 4.

How do you get in?

The school welcomes and learns from all faiths, and all girls are “expected to live out the Gospel values of truth, justice, forgiveness and kindness.”  The Junior School's main admission is at 4 and 6 by interview and assessment. Most of the girls from the Junior School go straight through at age 11 but there are 24 new admissions at this time.  Typically there are 100 candidates for these places and 40 are called for interview after an exam in English and Mathematics and general knowledge.  To quote from the prospectus - “An offer will be made on the basis of personality and an assessment of what both the girl and her family want from the school and can offer to it.” For admissions contact Mrs. Sumpter, the Registrar.
