A 39 year old woman from Acton has died after her VW Polo was in collision with a bus on Gunnersbury Avenue.

She has been name as Mrs Weon Son Chai an accountant of Princes Gardens, W3.

The accident happened at around 4.30am on the 14th December. The silver car crashed into a double decker N11 bus. The woman driver was taken to Ealing Hospital but pronounced dead shortly after her arrival. There were no other passengers in the car.

The N11 runs from Liverpool Street to Wimbledon. The bus was empty at the time of the accident. After the collision the bus veered off the road and hit a tree. The driver was also taken to Ealing Hospital suffering from minor injuries and shock.

The incident led to the closure of the North Circular road for much of the morning and severe traffic delays in the West London area.

Sgt Geoff Harper, investigating officer said, "Ms Chai's family are understandably extremely shocked by her death. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen either vehicle travelling along the North Circular Road between Hanger Lane and Chiswick Roundabout to contact Alperton Traffic Garage as soon as possible on 020-8998-5319.”
