Councillors welcome dedicated local police
Local Lib Dem councillors met with the new Southfield Safer Neighbourhoods Police team this week to introduce themselves. The new team is led by Sergeant Helene Holloway who will be assisted by PC Tim Scrimshaw and PCSO Ikram Syed. Their role will be to show an increased presence in the area to help reduce crime and the fear of crime. Liberal Democrat councillor Gary Malcolm welcomed the team saying “I think the police will reduce resident’s concerns and we will be working with them in any way we can. Since they started this week I have already spoken to the police team about a mugging in Fielding Road.” Sergeant Holloway said "My team are very much looking forward to working with the community, in order to understand and solve the issues that most affect their daily lives. Our telephone number is 0208 721 2946 and I would encourage anyone that is community minded and interested in how your local area is policed to call us. In the case of an emergency always call 999."
