The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Brentford and Chiswick after significant rainfall is forecast for Friday 20th July.

The heavy rain could lead to flooding in some areas and cause disruption. If the forecast totals are experienced the risk of flooding is high. River flooding may occur depending on the location of rainfall, however surface water flooding is likely regardless.

The agency states that "Based on this forecast Flood Watches are currently being issued for the faster reacting catchments in anticipation of low-lying land and road flooding. Due to the flashy nature of the rivers in London, response to rainfall could be very quick. We are awaiting a further update from the Met Office and will possibly be issuing further Flood Watches."

Flood Warnings will be issued if the situation deteriorates and property flooding is expected. Please note that no tidal problems are expected.

Updates will be issued when they are available.
